Seems like there are two ways to handle a robbery. Either you do the smart thing which is to cooperate and give the robber whatever they want and let them leave or you do the “Hollywood” thing and try and be the hero by tackling the person. Apparently their is a third option, reprimand the robber enough to shame him into leaving and turning himself into the cops.

While the story makes for a good laugh, the truth is, it was probably a pretty stupid thing to do. The 59 year old female employee is probably incredibly lucky she didn’t aggravate the assailant. Still, I really wish there was a YouTube video of the whole event somewhere!

You normally picture university professors as being reserved or perhaps even uptight. That’s not so for Terence Kealey of the University of Buckingham. In fact, a newly published article that contains his unique sense of humor has Dr. Kealey in some hot water.

It’s definitely nice to see a professor being able to joke around about his own profession while poking fun at a few stereotypes and myths. However, I can also see how people could be upset at the guy for saying curvy female students can “spice up” marital sex. Is being a college professor one of those jobs where such comments are out of line? Or is it a refreshing change of pace to see a teacher lighten up a bit?

Perhaps it’s time to move to Spain because it’s apparently against the law to fire you if you happen to call your boss a son of a bitch. Oh, and you can also call your boss crazy too.

I don’t know about you, but I sure think this is one of those cases where the person really was deserving of being terminated. I know Spain must have different employment regulations, but I’d like to think a company can go ahead and fire you if you call another employee (especially your boss) a son of a bitch. Maybe that’s just me though?

If you feel like pretending you have a different job for awhile, impersonating a cop should probably be scratched off that list. However, if you feel you absolutely must go around pretending you’re a cop, perhaps pulling over the local mayor isn’t the best idea.

Reminds me of the movie Catch Me If You Can, with Leonardo DiCaprio impersonating everything from a doctor to a pilot. He even had to impersonate being a detective at one point and was actually able to temporarily fool Tom Hanks (a detective himself). Maybe the guy who pulled over the mayor should have taken some pointers from the movie?

It seems as though there are an endless amount of stories dealing with identity theft. Of course, it’s not too often you read about a person who catches the person who stole their identity. In fact, the customer service representative actually caught the person when the thief was trying to open a credit account with the rep’s stolen identity.

I’m not sure there is a penalty stiff enough to punish identity thieves. I’ve heard of so many cases of people’s lives being ruined by identity theft, so it’s nice to see a person find the very person who stole their identity. Of course, it would have been a better story if the woman took the thief outside for a “talk” before calling the authorities.
