Boss Orders Female Employees to Wear Red Bracelets While on Their Period

It almost seems like something out of a comedy skit - a Norwegian boss has ordered all his female employees to wear red bracelets while they are on their period.

According to the company, the red bracelets are to let their boss know why they are using the toilets so often. That must be it... I'm sure they aren't doing it to know who may be a little crankier than normal so as to avoid them until their red bracelets are off.

File that under fear the red scarfs.

Now that would be pretty embarrassing for the women... nothing like announcing to everyone you work with that it's "that time of the month" again!

I dunno, it's still not as weird as this holistic healing class I took where the teacher demanded that any menstruating women in the room stand in the back and energetically cleanse their privates before allowing them to join the others sitting in the classroom. That was pretty weird.

I find this to be sexest and degrading. I'm sure that the Norwegian courts would find this behavior culturally degrading. To think that a company would stoop this low is beyond me. Be glad the EEOC can't get a hold of them.
