Woman Fired for Sending Poorly Formatted Office Email

For whatever reason some employees think they need to make their emails stand out and as such, have likely irritated their fair share of coworkers. Vicki Walker is one such employee.

While the fact that she was recently awarded $17,000 for unfair dismissal is absurd, I must admit that the email presented as evidence of her poor email etiquette was fairly tame. And of course she lays it on pretty thick about her mortgage payments, borrowing money from her sister, and the fact that she is single... hmm... I wonder why?

What do you think? Are annoying emails cause for being canned?

People at my office are constantly sending way worse emails than that - they're either in all caps, big red bold, or with unnecessary high importance exclamation marks plastered all over them. In my fantasy world, sure, these annoying people would get fired for it, but in reality they don't, and they shouldn't. This woman's company, and every company, needs to first put together some email format guidelines because many people just don't know how they come across.
