Customer ALmost Forced to Replace Pole After Overweight Cable Guy Breaks It

A cable guy that shows up on time? No way! He was polite and got right to work? Can’t be! While climbing a pole to fix the cable he breaks it due to being overweight? Ahh, all is right in the world.

Okay, we may give cable technicians a hard time, but they generally deserve it. In this case, the guy did seem like a pretty stand up employee, it’s just that his company decided to be stereotypically greedy and mean when they attempted to foot the homeowner with the bill.

File that under five dollar footlongs.

Ex-Sheriff Files for Unemployment

So what do you do if you’ve just lost your job as county sheriff because the people decided to elect somebody else? Why you file for unemployment of course!

I guess the guy is unemployed, but like they say in the article, he took a job that consisted of a pre-determined amount of time (unless re-elected), so it’s not really the same as being fired. It’s kind of like taking a contract/consulting job for a pre-specified time period – you don’t get to claim you were fired once that time period is up.

File that under someone arrest that sheriff!

Poll Results: Holidays Smolidays

With 40 total votes, it appears to be a near tie between those that did have a holiday party and those that did not. The results are below.

Did your company throw a holiday party?

  • Yes (53%, 21 Votes)
  • No (48%, 19 Votes)

While some may dread having to attend a company holiday party, I personally like the idea of having some sort of year-end party to loosen up and have a good time. Obviously, this is especially the case when a holiday party can be thrown and attended during work hours.

New Poll: Did your company throw a holiday party?

With many reports about companies cancelling their holiday parties due to the slumping economy, I’ve decided to post up a poll asking you all about your own experiences. Did your company have a holiday party or were you left out in the cold?

The company I work for did not have a party, though we are quite small and didn’t have one last year either. I didn’t really expect one, though a small little hurrah to end the year is always a nice morale booster.
