All forms discrimination at work are bad right? Well, not according to Abercrombie & Fitch, a company that has apparently been judging it’s employees based on their appearance. “There’s no real problem to discriminate against ‘ugly’ people”, the lawyers say, but that doesn’t comfort the many retail workers who have found themselves in the back room due to their less than desirable looks.
Seems outrageous right? Oh, except for the fact that the retailer is trying to sell a look to people and that more attractive salespeople will not only better sell that message but will also be able to bring in more potential customers. If you went to a hair salon and all you saw were people with ugly haircuts, wouldn’t you think twice before having them cut your hair? Sure, Abercrombie & Fitch is selling clothing, and ugly people can still wear nice clothing, but when they are shooting for what’s hip and cool, they’d be at a disadvantage if most of their employees weren’t attractive.
File that under stop being ugly.

You think your job is bad? Tell that to Todd D., who recounts his experience changing jobs thinking he had found a greener pasture to program in. Unfortunately for Todd (but fortunately for us readers), his new job ended up being much, much worse.
It’s a demoralizing story, but a humorous one at that. Of course, if the story gets you thinking about your own company and all the things that bug you about it, well, it quickly turns funny to depressing. So let’s just laugh at and sympathize with Todd while pretending that our own job shares nothing in common with his.

Looking to spice up your office chair races? Perhaps you should tack on a metal frame, bicycle brakes, and a lawnmower engine to see if you can’t make the world’s fastest office chair. May want to stay off the road’s though as you don’t want the police seizing your office roadster.
I think we’ve had to suffer with lowly foot-powered chairs for much too long. It’s time we demand an office filled with motorized office chairs so that we can race around in style!
File that under motorized mahem.

I often get requests to link to various websites, but with most of them having absolutely nothing to do with office humor, I generally ignore them. However, reader Jackie went an extra mile to promote Rattlebox (an free eCard site that allows you to customize your eCards) by creating this eCard specifically for the Office Humor demographics. It’s kind of basic, but it’s still kind of funny and can definitely be passed on to some coworkers for a quick laugh.
