Jerome Felske, a Chicago city worker, was fired when the city found out he had 22 criminal convictions. More specifically, he was fired because he lied on his application when he claimed to only have 6 convictions. Of course, that didn’t stop his lawyer from being able to get him rehired after taking the case to court.
The lawyer actually argued that Felske forgot the remaining convicitions and that he shouldn’t be held responsible for merely having a bad memory. It’s good to know you can use the “I forgot” excuse after being caught lying on your resume these days. It’s not so good to know that the city was forced to continue the employment of a man with 22 criminal convictions though.
File that under time to spruce up the ‘ol resume.
