In one of the most hilariously absurd studies ever conducted, researchers are now claiming paying taxes makes people happy.

Of course, the actual “research” dealt with studying people’s brain activity while donating money to causes they believe in. I’m sure everybody thinks of paying taxes as merely donating to causes they fully believe in. Donating to a starving children’s fund voluntarily is slightly different from having to pay a percentage of your paycheck to a giant batch of “causes” - a process that is entirely too complex and convoluted for most people to understand enough to be comfortable with.
