Okay, so I know the title is a bit of a mouthful, so let me try and clarify. The Patently Silly website has found a US patent that covers status indicator signs for offices and cubicles.
I’ve definitely seen people in the office who put paper signs up that say things like “I’m at lunch” or “high priority only”, but I never thought somebody would actually go out and patent the idea. Actually, I think the patent should be invalid since there is history of prior use as indicated in my examples above. Just another silly patent by some people with too much time on their hands.
