News: Man Sends in His Resignation Letter... and a Tarantula

I've resigned from a couple different jobs this past year. For both resignations I wrote a nice letter and gave it to my superior. Apparently some people take that opportunity to send more than just a resignation letter, as in this news story where a man sent a female coworker a red-kneed tarantula.

This story brings about many different feelings for me. On the one hand, it's damn funny. If you don't think it's at least a bit funny, well, I guess I feel sorry for you. On the other hand, I'm petrified of spiders. If a coworker did that to me, I'd freak out uncontrollably. I would most likely screech like a little girl and run out of the office, which would be hilarious for everybody but myself.

With that being said, the idea is funny but I think it definitely crosses the line. The man that did it has been arrested and hasn't said exactly why he sent the tarantula. Perhaps there was some hostile motivation behind it, I dunno.

Moral of the story, spiders are NOT to be used as pranks!

File that under spider pranks not welcome.
