New Poll: Does your office dress up for Halloween?

I've put up a new poll that you can get to on the right sidebar that asks you whether or not your office dresses up for Halloween. I, personally, have actually never worked at a company where people dressed up for Halloween. Okay, I guess there's always a couple people that do, but it has never been a "thing" at any of the companies I've worked at.

There have been a few different company Halloween parties though, and those can definately get weird quick.

Poll Results: Holidays Smolidays

With 40 total votes, it appears to be a near tie between those that did have a holiday party and those that did not. The results are below.

Did your company throw a holiday party?

  • Yes (53%, 21 Votes)

  • No (48%, 19 Votes)

While some may dread having to attend a company holiday party, I personally like the idea of having some sort of year-end party to loosen up and have a good time. Obviously, this is especially the case when a holiday party can be thrown and attended during work hours.

New Poll: Did your company throw a holiday party?

With many reports about companies cancelling their holiday parties due to the slumping economy, I've decided to post up a poll asking you all about your own experiences. Did your company have a holiday party or were you left out in the cold?

The company I work for did not have a party, though we are quite small and didn't have one last year either. I didn't really expect one, though a small little hurrah to end the year is always a nice morale booster.

More Prankers Than Prankees

While about 80% of you said that you've pranked a coworker, only 55% have actually being on the receiving end of a work prank.

Have you ever been pranked by a coworker?

  • Yes (55%, 24 Votes)

  • No (45%, 20 Votes)

I did expect the number of "prankees" to be a bit less than the 80% found for prankers, but apparently the difference is actually quite a lot. It must be nice to be able to pull off an office prank without retaliation - though you're victims may all be plotting their revenge at this very moment!

New Poll: Have You Ever Been Pranked by a Coworker?

The last poll asked you whether or not you have ever pranked a coworker. Well. This time we find out if you have ever been on the recieving side of an office prank. So let's have it. Have you ever been pranked by a coworker?

I definitely have been pranked a few times - though none have ever been all that bad. Most have been pretty tame pranks involving messing with my computer... nothing too elaborate. It's actually been awhile since I've been pranked - perhaps I need to start a prank war or something.

80% of OHB Readers Have Pranked a Coworker

Last week's poll asked you whether or not you've pranked a coworker - the final results are below.
Have you ever pranked a coworker?

  • Yes (80% - 45 Votes)

  • No (20% - 11 Votes)

I'm please with the turnout considering it was this blog's first poll. Obviously the results are a little skewed in favor of pranking as this site's reader's likely have a better sense of humor and are more "fun loving" than your average office worker. Apparently 20% of you need to get off your butts and prank a work buddy. With a pretty large list of office pranks to be had, what exactly are you waiting for?

New Poll: Have You Ever Pranked a Coworker

I've added a new feature here at the Office Humor Blog... polls! Okay, so polls aren't quite a revolutionary new concept for a blog, but it's about time I implemented them here. The first poll, "Have you ever pranked a coworker" can be seen in the upper left hand side of the site. The poll will run until June 20th so be sure to vote by then. I will likely do a little recap post when the results are all tallied and then post a new poll that will probably last a week or two as well.

Also, since polls are a more community type feature, it'd be great if everybody could participate in the comments of each poll's post - with everybody sharing their reasons for voting for what they did. The current poll, for example, provides for a great opportunity for readers to share their own pranking experiences in the comments below.
